Makers of all kinds. From the smallest craft piece to the largest wooden marvels of craftsmanship all require one thing. Dry and stable wood. Our True Dry Kiln records every step of the drying process at multiple locations. From varying depths and from outside to the center of the stack. And every stack comes with a printed record of how it was dried at what rate and what mositure content it is at.
Drying wood too fast can cause all sorts of problems. Like case hardening if the outer layer "sets" up too fast it creates a hard shell around the inner layers and traps the moisture inside. The wood then become very unstable and will act dramatically when cut. Cracking and discoloration will occur on the outer layers and is usually a sign that case hardening has occured.
